Sunday evening I had a game with
Luke at 1000 points. He took his newly painted CoA force and I took my Prussians. The Covenant are an extremely tough crowd and Luke played them well (and his dice are crazy!) so it was a very tough game. Unfortunately neither of us took pictures

On the final day of my getting stuff done week I managed to finish off the CoA frigates. So now all I need to finish off the starter box is to do the bombers and the bases of the tiny flyers.
Today though I've had a rest from painting and instead worked on getting some Prussian stuff cleaned up and undercoated. I'll be aiming to put up the unboxing pics for Dreadfleet tomorrow and also a quick post about the game I played last night.

Got the drone part of the tiny flyers all done with highlights etc and now I just need to do the lower part of the bases.
Today I plan to finish off my frigates, just have some final details to do and then they will be complete. I am also off to hopefully pick up Dreadfleet if that has come out which should be interesting. Will have to do an unboxing if I get it.

Failure! I didn't manage to get anything more done than part of the bases of the tiny flyers. I was just too slack and instead watched some Star Wars on blu ray and then played some Killing Floor.
Not sure how much I will be able to do today as I need to do various things around the house, but I am hoping to plug whatever time I do have into the tiny flyers.

3 days of success! I managed to get the 2nd layer of grey down on each of my frigates before the game last night.
Today I am going to concentrate on the Tiny Flyers and try and at least get the base coats down on all of them. I will then try and finish off the frigates (got detailing to do) but I think the weather might prevent me from using the airbrush over the weekend which might stop me working on the bombers.

More success yesterday! I managed to get all the frigates dry brushed and then got the first layer of grey down on all of them.
I then managed to get even more done by putting the first layer of green down on all of them! Feeling good.
Tonight I have my game (so long as my opponent shows up) so I don't think I will get much done today, however if I have time before the game, I might see how much of the lighter grey I can get down on the models.

Success! I managed to get what I planned to do yesterday done. Most of the stuff that I wanted to base purple got airbrushed and I learnt a bit more about the airbrush to boot. I still have 7 Destroyers to get done, but they will wait until I have the starter box stuff done.

First day of my Getting Stuff Done campaign and typically, events conspired to ensure that I only achieved part of my plans yesterday. I got home to late to pull out the airbrush (I only use it outside), so I wasn't able to base coat the frigates.

Currently I have a massive pile of Dystopian Wars stuff to get through (as usual right!). My plan is however to firstly focus on getting the CoA starter box finished, then move back to my Prussians and get enough for a variety of 1000 point lists.
So in order to do that I am going to be logging my progress daily. Starting with the contents of the starter box as you can see to the left.

Got back from the holiday last Wednesday. Was fantastic, though I am almost always happy to come home. There is just something about being in my own home, sleeping in my own bed, being back with the dog and having all my geeky stuff around
And how much geeky stuff do I have! All the GenCon stuff I ordered for Malifaux and Dystopian Wars arrived, as did my Terraclips and there are a heap of awesome computer games coming out soon. I think it is time for a list.

I'll be off on holidays for the next month (England and Italy woo!), so unlikely to be any posts from me. Maybe someone else will post (extremely unlikely). Have fun!

The Metzger (or Butcher) class robot is the special unit for the Prussian Empire. He comes in both a standing model and a waterlined, swimming model which is good because you can use him in both land and sea battles. There is just one problem; the mold for the waterlined model is horrible and there are two big massive bits of resin attached to each of the barrels you can see on the cannon rising out of the water. Both my barrels broke whilst trying to remove the underlying resin.

I have largely finished paining my CoA battleship (just have the turrets to finish off), but in doing so I realised last night that it was going to be an absolute pain to actually use because anyone that wanted to take a look at it would no doubt knock the top part off (the CoA battleship has a removable conning tower/bridge area so you can semi-submerge it). The solution? Magnets!

My Covenant of Antarctica models arrived last week and I finally managed to put a little paint on them earlier this week. I am going for something quite different for the CoA models, using pastels rather than the usual dark colours I use.
This makes it quite difficult and I am not 100% sure of the results, but so far it looks ok...

I finished painting my Prussian Dreadnought last weekend and used it for the first time on Sunday night.
It was going well until an EotBS Ika came up and boarded it, won the round of combat and we played that it could sabotage which lead to the dreadnought going pop

Have since learned that robots can't sabotage, so next time things won't go quite so bad. Up until that point, it wasn't getting scratched and was putting out a load of hurt. Can't wait to use it again.
More pics after the jump
