The second half of my Grey Knights army arrived late last week and that will in all likelihood be the last GW models I buy for a good while (more on this later!).I picked up a Chimera, 2 Razorbacks, 4 PA GK boxes and 2 Dreadknights. Still not sold on the Dreadknights, but I intend to give them ago when the escalation league I am running starts up again after the uni break for exams.

40k - Army Diary 04 - Progress Update

Despite my displeasure at the way GW is choosing to run its business (into the ground), I have been making some fairly steady progress with the Grey Knights. I am running an Army Builder Tournament over a number of weeks at one of the clubs I go to and am using that as continued motivation for the army.40k - Army Diary 03 - First Squad Painted

My goal with my Grey Knights army is to get a table top ready army up and running as quickly as possible. A large part of achieving that goal is to get the models painted, so I am looking for as many shortcuts as possible when it comes to painting. With the first squad that I painted I was aiming to do a few things that I hoped would look decent whilst still being very quick. Seeing as I painted this squad of 5 guys in 4-5 hours I'd say that I achieved my goal.

40k - Army Diary 02 - First Squad Assembled

This is the first squad that I assembled for the army. I have to say that the models are really quite fiddly to put together. The Psycannons in particular are a real pain. You need to glue the right hand to the back of the psycannon, the left hand to the top and get both attached to the body and then make sure the whole pose doesn't look stupid. Additionally there are really only maybe 3 poses that look ok for these guys and I intend to have quite a few of them.

40k - Army Diary 01 - Grey Knights Arrive

The Grey Knights I ordered a while ago in anticipation of making a new army have arrived! 5 squads of Grey Knights (5 man only the cheap bastards 
), 1 squad of Terminators, a Venerable Dread and 4 Razorbacks. In addition to the Grey Knights I already have this should see me most of the way to 1500 points.I have also ordered a Dread and 2 sets of Autocannon arms from Forgeworld, but I have no idea how long they usually take to arrive. I will also need to pick up a couple of Space Monkeys and Coteaz, but I will most likely buy them locally.
