Dystopian Wars - Fixing the Metzger Guns

Posted by winter on Monday, August 22. 2011 in Wargaming

The Metzger (or Butcher) class robot is the special unit for the Prussian Empire. He comes in both a standing model and a waterlined, swimming model which is good because you can use him in both land and sea battles. There is just one problem; the mold for the waterlined model is horrible and there are two big massive bits of resin attached to each of the barrels you can see on the cannon rising out of the water. Both my barrels broke whilst trying to remove the underlying resin.

Dystopian Wars - Magnetising CoA Battleship

Posted by winter on Friday, August 19. 2011 in Wargaming

I have largely finished paining my CoA battleship (just have the turrets to finish off), but in doing so I realised last night that it was going to be an absolute pain to actually use because anyone that wanted to take a look at it would no doubt knock the top part off (the CoA battleship has a removable conning tower/bridge area so you can semi-submerge it). Morgue Scenery

Posted by winter on Thursday, February 17. 2011 in Wargaming

Malifaux WIP Camp Site - Ground Done

Posted by winter on Tuesday, February 1. 2011 in Wargaming

I picked up the paints you see to the left today. They were $3.50 for 75ml so roughly 12 times cheaper than GW paints ;-) The colours weren't the best, but I can pick up some other colours if I am willing to pay a bit more.

Malifaux WIP Camp Site

Base coated Camp Site
Another of the great things about Malifaux is the randomised game boards. The only problem is actually having all that varied terrain available ;-) One of my wargaming goals this year is to put together enough terrain to assemble my own board.

A Couple of Terrain Pieces

Posted by winter on Monday, January 24. 2011 in Wargaming

I picked up a lot of terrain at Cancon, which is good as the only other terrain I have was a couple of buildings that I and my fiance built (the only time I have been able to rope her into doing anything vaguely to do with miniatures :-P ).
