Army Transport Bag Review

Posted by winter on Friday, July 29. 2011 in Wargaming

I picked up this Army Transport Bag from The Combat Company with the intention of putting all (well hopefully all, but probably most) of my Dystopian Wars models into it.

I've purchased a number of transport options (GW cases, Battlefoam bags & foam, Minisoft foam and some stuff I built myself) so I've got some idea of the differences between the various options and have also formed some opinions of what I like and what doesn't.

OMG a non wargaming related post! As most people would be aware, the final Harry Potter film has come out and I caught it early Sunday morning with the woman.

Thoughts and numerous spoilers below.

Wayland Games Boo!

Posted by winter on Thursday, June 9. 2011 in Wargaming

Wayland Games is one of the big 2 UK based online distributors and they seem to get a lot of endorsements from people. I recently ordered some stuff from them and I have to say that it was one of the most unsatisfying and disappointing experiences I have had as a consumer.

Malifaux - Rules Manual

Posted by winter on Tuesday, March 29. 2011 in Wargaming

Got back from Fiji yesterday and I must say it was fantastic. Slightly down about having to go in to work tomorrow (took an extra day off today!), but I can look forward to Malifoolery One on the weekend.

We've played DDO (works well for this kind of thing), L4D2 and continuing the zombie killing action the game for the past couple of months has been Killing Floor. Serenity - The Shepherd's Tale

Posted by winter on Friday, January 28. 2011 in Books

Firefly is one of the great tragedies of science fiction. A premise that sounds so preposterous turns out to be an absolutely amazing experience for all. My fiance hates westerns and dislikes sci-fi and yet she loves Firefly, a sci-fi western. Any geek who thinks themselves a geek and hasn't watched Firefly needs to have the geek card taken away.

One of the most intriguing characters through out the series is Shepherd Book. A man of the cloth who obviously knows how to take care of himself in a rumble, he also seems able to command priority access to the Alliance. His story is left unresolved in both the series and the movie. This graphic novel finally tells his story.

Posted by sukoto on Tuesday, January 25. 2011 in Books

Here is my "Kraken Mini Review", also known as "China Still Needs An Editor".

Kraken is the third book of China MiƩville's (CM) that I've read, and helps drive home the points of view that I have about his works.
